FAQ

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions plumbing and heating firms ask us most often, answered as plainly as we can. If yours is not here, email hello@plumborixa.site and we will reply within two working days.

About working with us

What exactly does Plumborixa do?

We design, write and build websites for plumbing and heating businesses in the UK, and publish free guides on running a trade website well. We do not carry out plumbing or gas work, sell leads or run a directory.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, and you receive the content and all website files. If you move to another designer, we hand everything over.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Builds are priced as a fixed scope. Care plans, if you choose one, run month to month after any initial term stated in your quote.

Do you work with firms outside England?

Yes, across the UK. Where rules differ between nations, such as water fittings regulations in Scotland, we check the details for your area.

Why only plumbing and heating?

Focusing on one trade lets us write accurately about the work, the registrations that matter and how customers choose a plumber. It also keeps our builds consistent and well documented.

Cost and timing

How much will my website cost?

It depends on the number of pages, how much writing is needed and any integrations. Our pricing page shows published UK market ranges from 2026 and explains the main cost drivers. Every client gets a fixed written quote before work starts.

How long does a website take?

Most plumbing websites take four to eight weeks from agreed scope to launch. The main variable is how quickly content and photos come back.

Are there ongoing costs?

Yes, as with any website: a domain renewal, hosting and optionally a care plan. We list these clearly in the quote so there are no surprises.

Can I pay in stages?

Yes. Payment is split by project stage so you never pay far ahead of work you have seen.

Content and claims

Do you write the content?

Yes. We write every page from a questionnaire and a call, then you check each one for accuracy before design starts.

Can you put the Gas Safe logo on my site?

Only if your business is Gas Safe registered and you are authorised to use the logo. We show the registration number and a link to the public check. Displaying trust marks without authorisation is banned under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

Can you add reviews from my Google profile?

We can show real reviews and link to where they were posted. We present them fairly, without hiding negative ones, because the same 2024 Act bans fake reviews and misleading presentation of reviews.

Can you write some reviews to get us started?

No. Fake reviews are illegal and damage trust. We can help you set up a simple, honest way to ask real customers for feedback.

Can I say we offer a 24 hour service?

Only if it is true at all hours, every day. If your cover has gaps, the site will describe the hours you actually work. The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld complaints about unsupported 24/7 claims by plumbing firms.

Search and Google

Will my new website rank first on Google?

Nobody can promise that honestly. We build sites that search engines can crawl and understand, with pages matching how customers search, then show you how to measure results in Search Console.

Do I still need a Google Business Profile?

Yes. For local searches, the map results are driven largely by your profile. The website and profile work best when they tell the same story.

Should I have a page for every town nearby?

Only for places where you genuinely work and have something specific to say. Copy-and-paste town pages risk being treated as doorway pages by Google.

Do you do ongoing SEO?

We set up local search foundations properly and can add pages over time. We do not sell link packages or monthly retainers with vague deliverables.

Technical and practical

Do you use WordPress?

Our default is a hand-built site with a small, secure form handler. It is faster and needs much less maintenance. If you need to edit pages often yourself, we discuss options during scoping.

Where is the site hosted?

On UK or EU hosting through our care plan, or on hosting in your own name if you prefer. Either way the domain stays yours.

Does the site use cookies?

Our standard build sets no tracking cookies. The contact form uses one short-lived session cookie to protect against spam and forged submissions, which is explained on the cookies page.

What happens to enquiries sent through the form?

They are emailed to your chosen inbox and not stored in a database on the website. Your privacy notice explains this to customers.

Can you connect my booking or job management software?

Often, yes, depending on the software. We check what is possible during scoping and include it in the quote.

Still have a question?

Use the contact page or email hello@plumborixa.site. If you are not ready to talk, the guides cover most topics in more depth, and the brief builder helps you plan before speaking to anyone.
