Enquiry websites for plumbers

An enquiry website is a complete site for a plumbing or heating business, built so that a visitor can decide to contact you within a minute and then do it in one tap. It covers your services, your areas, your credentials and your contact routes, and nothing that gets in the way of those four things.

Who this is for

This service suits plumbing and heating firms that need a full website: new businesses, firms that have outgrown a one-page site, and businesses whose current site was built years ago and no longer describes the work they want. If you already have a site that mostly works, the redesign service may be the better fit.

It works for sole traders and teams alike. The size of the site follows the size of the business. A one-van plumber covering a single town might need eight focused pages. A firm with bathroom fitting, heating and drainage divisions across a county might need thirty.

The pages a typical build includes

Every site is scoped individually, but most plumbing enquiry websites end up with the same backbone. Each page has one job.

Typical page plan
HomeWho you are, where you work, the main job types and the phone number, all visible on a phone without scrolling far.
Service pagesOne page per job type customers search for, such as boiler servicing, leak repairs, bathroom installations or blocked drains.
AreasA clear list of towns and postcodes, with individual area pages where you have genuine local detail to share.
AboutThe people behind the firm, how long you have traded if you choose to say, and the registrations you hold, each with a way to check it.
ReviewsReal customer reviews, shown fairly, with a link to where they were originally posted.
ContactTap-to-call, email, a short job request form and your normal hours.
PoliciesPrivacy notice, terms of business if you take bookings online, and an accessibility statement.

How the enquiry path works

The path from landing to contacting you should be short and predictable. On a phone, the visitor sees your trading name, a one-line description of what you do and where, and a call button, all in the first screen. Scrolling down gives them the evidence they need to trust you: job types, areas, credentials and reviews. At any point, a second tap gets them to the job request form.

We design the form around what you need to quote or call back, and nothing more. For most plumbing firms that is a name, a phone number or email, the postcode, the type of job and a short description. Optional fields such as "best time to call" or a photo upload can help, but every extra required field costs you some enquiries. We ask during scoping which questions you actually use when you call people back, and we cut the rest.

Calls are usually worth more than forms for plumbing firms, so the phone number gets the most prominent spot. If you use an 03 number, Ofcom rules mean calls to it cost no more than a national-rate call to an 01 or 02 number and count towards inclusive minutes, which removes a common reason people hesitate to dial.[1] Premium-rate numbers are a poor choice for trade sites and Google does not accept them on a Business Profile at all.[2]

Credentials, shown so customers can check them

Registrations and memberships are some of the strongest trust signals a plumbing site has, but only if they are real and current. For gas work, anyone working on gas appliances in domestic premises must be Gas Safe registered, and customers can check an engineer's licence number on the Gas Safe Register or by text.[3] For water work, WaterSafe is a register of approved plumbing businesses whose members must meet standards for qualifications, insurance and conduct.[4]

We show each registration with its number and a link to the public check where one exists, and we only add logos you have permission to use. Displaying a trust mark without authorisation is banned under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and Trading Standards guidance specifically warns about the Gas Safe logo.[5] If someone on your team is registered for gas work and others are not, the site says exactly that.

Photos and proof

Stock photos of smiling models holding spanners do little for a plumbing firm. Customers can tell. Photos of your own vans, your team and finished jobs are far more convincing, even if they were taken on a phone. During scoping we explain what to photograph and how, and we edit what you send so it looks consistent across the site.

If you do not have photos yet, we design the site to work without them at launch and leave clearly marked spaces to add them later. We never fill those spaces with someone else's work.

What you receive

  • A written page plan and content for every page, checked by you before design starts.
  • A phone-first design built on your real content, approved on screen before coding.
  • A hand-coded site with a secure enquiry form that emails your chosen address.
  • Structured data describing your business and services, a sitemap and search console set-up.
  • Testing on real phones and with a screen reader, plus speed checks against Core Web Vitals.[6]
  • A handover document listing logins, settings and the small monthly checks that keep the site healthy.

What we need from you

A plumbing website is only as accurate as the information behind it. We will ask for your trading name and contact details, the job types you want more of and less of, the towns you cover and how far you travel, your registration numbers and membership details, and links to where your reviews are posted. We also ask who answers the phone and when, because the site should never promise a response time that the business cannot keep.

Questions about enquiry websites

How long does an enquiry website take?

Allow four to eight weeks from agreed scope to launch. The biggest variable is how quickly content and photos come back to us, which is why we collect them first.

Can customers book a time slot online?

They can, if online booking suits how you work. Many plumbing firms prefer a job request followed by a call, because jobs vary so much in length. We will talk through both options during scoping.

Will the site work with my Google Business Profile?

Yes. We make sure your business name, phone number and service areas match between the site and the profile, and we link the profile to the right page.

Can I edit the site myself later?

Small edits such as prices, hours or a new photo can be handled through our care service or by any competent developer, because the code is clean and documented. If you want to edit pages yourself regularly, tell us at the scoping stage.

Start with a written scope, not a sales call

Tell us how your jobs come in, where you work and what the site has to do. You get a plain scope back by email.
