About Plumborixa

Plumborixa designs and builds websites for plumbing and heating businesses in the United Kingdom, and publishes free guides on running a trade website well. We focus on one trade so that every page we write is accurate about the work, the registrations that matter and the way customers choose a plumber.

Why only plumbing and heating

A general web designer has to learn a new trade with every client. That usually shows in the content: vague service descriptions, logos added because a competitor has them, coverage claims nobody checked and emergency promises the business cannot keep. The site looks fine and quietly underperforms.

Working with one trade changes that. We know the difference between a Gas Safe registration and a WaterSafe listing, why "24/7" is a risky claim to put on a website, how customers describe a failed boiler versus a leaking cylinder, and why the phone number matters more than the homepage photo. That knowledge goes into every site and every guide.

What we believe a plumbing website should be

  • Useful before it is clever. A customer should be able to see what you do, where and how to reach you in seconds, on a phone.
  • Honest in every claim. Every registration, review, price basis and response time on the site should be something the business can prove.
  • Fast and accessible. Built to load quickly on a weak signal and to work for people with different needs.
  • Owned by the business. Your domain, your content and your files, with no lock-in.

How we work

Projects run in five stages, from a written scope to launch, with nothing starting until you have approved the stage before. Content comes first, because the words and facts are what persuade customers to call. Design follows the content, phone view first. Every site is tested on real phones and with screen readers before it goes live. The process page has the detail.

We work by email for most things, so there is always a written record, and by phone where talking is quicker.

What we will not do

We will not write fake reviews, invent case studies or add trade logos you are not entitled to display. We will not create pages for towns you do not serve, stuff keywords into your Business Profile name or buy links. We will not promise first place on Google. We do not sell leads, run a directory or take a commission on jobs.

We also do not carry out plumbing, heating or gas work. We build websites for the firms who do.

Where we work

We build websites for plumbing and heating firms anywhere in the United Kingdom. Because almost everything happens by email and the occasional call, location rarely matters. Where rules differ between the nations of the UK, for example on water fittings in Scotland, we check the specifics for the areas a client serves before writing about them.

What a first conversation looks like

A project starts with a short email. You tell us what the business does, where it works and what is not working with the current website, if there is one. We look at your site and your Business Profile, then reply with questions or a first view of what would help. If a full rebuild is not needed, we say so. Some firms only need a better phone layout, a proper emergency page or a few honest area pages, and we would rather recommend the small job than sell the big one.

Who writes the content

The guides and service pages on this site are written and edited by Alex Morgan. Where a page states a legal rule, a regulator's position or a statistic, it links to the source, and each page lists its sources with the date they were checked. Our editorial policy explains how we research, check and correct what we publish.

Who is responsible for this site

Plumborixa is responsible for this website and for the personal data described in our privacy notice. You can reach us at hello@plumborixa.site. We aim to reply within two working days.

Our commercial interest

The owner of this site has commercial interests in web design services, including the services described here. That is how the site is funded. We publish the guides because they are genuinely useful to plumbing firms, and because a firm that understands what a good website needs is a better client for any designer. The guides recommend cheaper and do-it-yourself routes where those make more sense, and they do not depend on hiring us.

Get in touch

If you want a website, a redesign or just a second opinion on your current site, the contact page is the place to start. If you would rather plan on your own first, try the brief builder or read the guides.

Start with a written scope, not a sales call

Tell us how your jobs come in, where you work and what the site has to do. You get a plain scope back by email.
